I am 55 years old and get the urge to join the high school hockey team. The coach was a teacher my son had in High school. He surprised me by finding a space on the team. I went to practice and started skating forward effortlessly, faster and faster and it felt wonderful. But I realized I would probably get cut from the team because I couldn't skate backwards well. I told a teammate and she said don't worry if you do well in the next race, you'll receive special coaching. In the race I skated as hard as I could and won first place.
